人新世と呼ばれるこの時代、人と自然とテクノロジーが共生する都市はどう描けるのでしょうか？都市の歴史が、自らを秩序だったものとして周囲から峻別してきたものだとするならば、それは生物の免疫機構にも似ています。そうだとすれば、現在の都市はある種のアレルギー状態にあるのかもしれません。テクノロジーを通じて、都市という概念を生態系の中に書き込めるとしたら。
田中浩也研究室が所有する大型3Dプリンタ「ArchiFab NIWA」は、30m×30mという世界最大の造形範囲を誇り、その規模と可搬性を活かして、現地の環境特性にフレキシブルに対応しながらデザインを行います。出力素材には、土や籾殻といった自然素材を組み合わせ、3Dプリンタによって内部構造を付与することでその能力を拡張した「環境マテリアル」が使用されます。これらによって、生態系の機能を拡張・促進させるメタシティのモニュメントを出力し、自然に向けたテクノロジーの在り方を探索していきます。
人々はBio Sculptureを愛で、崇め、手入れし、壊すといった一連の過程を通じて、生態系の奥へと没入（ジャック・イン）していくのです。

A joint research project with Hiroya Tanaka laboratory at Keio SFC, installing ecosystems in the city using a 30m x 30m long large scale 3D printer.
In this so-called Anthropocene era, how can we envision a city where people, nature, and technology coexist in harmony? If the history of the city is one that has distinguished itself from its surroundings as an orderly thing, it is similar to the immune mechanism of an organism. If so, then the current city may be in some sort of allergic state. What if, through technology, the concept of the city could be written into the ecosystem?
The Archifabab NIWA, a large 3D printer owned by the Hiroya Tanaka Laboratory, boasts the world's largest modeling range at 30m x 30m, and takes advantage of its scale and portability to create designs while flexibly responding to local environmental characteristics. The output material is an "ecological material" that combines natural materials, such as soil and rice husks, and expands their capabilities by adding an internal structure using a 3D printer. In this way, we will output a monument of METACITY that expands and facilitates the functioning of ecosystems and explore what nature-oriented technologies could be.
People are immersed into the depths of the ecosystem through a series of processes of love, reverence, care and destruction of the Bio Sculpture. Just like the characters in "Neuromancer" jacked into cyberspace.
